I had a canoe trip along the Berounka river from 12-18 June. It is an obligatory course for each student in my faculty. We were some 34 four people so almost a fleet of canoes and had to do 120 km in 6 days From Plzen (Pilsner) to Prague, when the water was like oil as the czechs used to say. It was really exhausting. I had the bad luck to have an unsinkable canoe which was almost twice the weight of the normal one. Beside that sleeping in an old borrowed tent produced in communist times (some 20 kg) and carrying it all the time was not pleasant at all. Anyway I went to seee to many places along the trip and had some fun beside learning some slang in czech from different dialects. The most interesting was the trip to the abandoned guarries near Prague called in strange names Small America, Big America, Mexico..., where the political prisoners used to work after WWII. After being abandoned the guarries in '70s were filled with water and as I red on internet there was the first nude beach in CZ since communist times. Now it is not allowed to enter there anymore. It is a natural reserve (or how these things are called) and the fine is 50.000 Kc more than 1500 EUR. But that doesnt stop turists and local people to go there risking their lives. Since there are no stairs anymore you have to be a climber to get down to the water. Anyway I think is worth it, especially in small america where you can get easily if you get the maps of the tunnels. That is if you dont get afraid from fine and the memorials of people who did not make it until there.

Damn, it has been so hot these days I have difficulty to breathe. Today it could have been 35 C. Even now at 3 a.m is still hot. I am waking up early because even at 9 a.m is so hot that I cant sleep anymore. I got some ice from the fridge, put it inside a plastic bag and then put the bag under the notebook cause it was getting very hot. :) Liked the expression probably from Antony Athanas: Unë jam aq i mirë, sa vakti im i fundit - My mood is same as the quality of my last meal.
Oh and Albtelekom was sold to a Turkish company for 120m eur. Ridiculous price. That means bye bye tech for at least 10 years. I hope there could be a possibility to take it back from them after the elections. This was the worst thing the socialists did until now. And they are going to loose definitely. Hopefully not to the democrats :(

Oldboy, korean movie of 2003. Grand Prix of Cannes. I liked the movie only when it ended. I think the korean movies (this was my first) are a little bit different from what I have been watching until now. At least this one was. The tale is very interesting (revenge, love and incest) and the play is really good. I just did not like the music in some scenes.

Yesterday was looking at this interesting web site for the WWii in czech: http://www.fronta.cz/. Sugee. :) A lot of information, historical documents and pictures. Especially interesting it is the discussion above the Czech involvement at war. Should they have fought the Nazi immediately after the Pact of Munich or better to surrender? Now it seems like it was better to surrender, but back then it might have been different. To me it seems they did not have many chances against them in the long term.

Last year one of my classmates who spends all the day playing CS and Quake came with this idea about making advertisements in videogames (mainly food advertisements as he was always hungry or thirsty when playing games). Last week attended a meeting arranged for students by an IT company called NESS. One of the project managers gave an introduction for 15 minutes. I heard there for the first time what was "elektronické mýtné". Mytne means toll, road toll.

The Albanian Wikipedia in the last three months went form 60 to 800 articles. And most of the articles are really good ones. If it continues like this in 2 years we will have an entire library :).

Yesterday it was the turn of the Cisco exam. After 4 hours I finally finished and I felt such a peace in myself. Today seems to me that there is nothing to do anymore. It seems that the only reason of living are the exams :)). Of course I enjoyed the day playing bowling with rydel (2:2 He did more strikes but I did more spares :) )and spent the rest of the evening drinking and discussing up the hill of Strahov, but since I did not study for any kind of examination I dont feel comfortable. Doo suru kana? :))

My friend, a first year student, got problems with sleeping and here is the list of what I learned from him. 28 hour day, circadian rhythm, people with 150 and 250 stress points, an exam is 20 stress points half of a love rejection, entrainment failure, etc. Quote of the week: A dirty mind is a joy forever.

Finally I got a mark on my index (I wonder how can it be in english).Tomorrow start with programming languages, a really interesting subject that is becoming boring because of not having any good textbook in english. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we lost badly with Ukraine before yesterday even though we did play good. (five stress points :) ) Somebody was bringing really bad luck. One penalty and one bar lost. Damn! In vain, all the efforts of bringing the 300 kg flag from Pristina.

Had dinner with my friends and watched Whore. An interesting doc. After I woke up I found that my roomate disappeared at 8 p.m. Failed to study.
Para dy ditesh takova nje nga studentet shqiptare i cili kishte jetuar me nje japonez per njefare kohe ne konvikt. Si rrjedhim i kesaj japonezi kishte filluar te komunikonte me mire ne anglisht (kuptohet duke perdorur dhe ndihmen elektronike te nje fjalori hieroglifesh kineze), kurse ketij i kishin ngelur disa shodo. Ne njeren prej tyre ishte shkruar nje shprehje e Mao Ce Dunit. Kapitalizmi eshte tingull (tiger dmth) prej letre. :)

Deti got sick same day he arrived. We had a Christmas party with our friends on 24. On 25 we spent the night in a jazz club where Vesna had a concert. The next day he felt really bad. The day before yesterday we went to the hospital. I hope he will get out of it today evening and he will be feeling ok.

One week of parties, meetings, exams and work. Feeling exhausted. Deti (The Sea) is arriving tomorrow at 11.30 by Jugoslavian Airlines (poor him). I will not need salt until January 10. :) Waiting for new music from Tirana and homemade food.

Just finished watching 21 grams. I knew it was a good movie but I kept far from it, I do not know why, until it got in the conversation of everyday life. But d... I liked the script more than the movie. If I compare it with some other... I cant recall of a similar movie. Maybe some scenes of Seven, Man on Fire, City of Gods, all very far from it. But if you ask me I was going to make the movie longer :). The Revenge, the Will of living and the Impossibility of living. Great themes.

Today it seems like yesterday or like a week before. Except the fact that I dont have to study for the math exam anymore. My roommate wont go home this weekend again. DAMN.
